Primary install path

Chrome Web Store installation

This is the intended install flow for users and growth channels.

  1. Open Chrome Web Store and click Add to Chrome.

  2. Keep the extension pinned for quick access if you want.

  3. Run your first X-Ray scan.

Fallback

Manual install (technical fallback)

Use this path only if Chrome Web Store is blocked in your environment or for troubleshooting. Do not use GitHub source archives.

  1. Download the installable ZIP from GitHub.

  2. Unzip the downloaded file.

  3. Open chrome://extensions.

  4. Enable Developer mode.

  5. Click Load unpacked.

  6. Select the extracted TabVitals folder containing manifest.json.

  7. Pin TabVitals to the Chrome toolbar if desired.

  8. Run your first X-Ray scan.

Chrome may show a diagnostics notice while X-Ray runs because TabVitals uses local process diagnostics. It closes after the scan.Learn why.
